About Irmgard
For nearly 2 decades I have been working as a hoof orthopedist in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. (Hoof orthopedic = correction and prevention with a unique trimming approach). It’s an incredibly cool profession. I rehab horses, ponies, mules and donkeys whose owners observe that something is wrong with their hooves. The problems lead them to seek help, answers, and advice. Over the years I notice an alarming trend: there are increasingly severe hoof problems among horses. Issues arise from a shortage of trimmers and farriers, overly long trimming cycles, horse health issues, forage problems, misinformation, appointment problems, lack of knowledge, and everything owners struggle with that causes unhealthy hooves.
Life Is About Choices
As a child, I dreamed of being a cowgirl and never drive a car as an adult :) However, reality led me down a different path, shaped by familial expectations that didn’t align with my equestrian passions. Life took me through various jobs and experiences, including several years in England. Upon returning home, I studied law. But working with horses and dogs was still my passion. My journey in hoof care began when Jumper came into my life. Her hooves were in a terrible condition, and after a frustrating search for a trimmer, I sought professional training and knowledge. This was a turning point for me that eventually led me to the German Orthopedic Hoof Society (DHG) in Germany. Classical Homeopathy for Animals, Emmett4Horses and in-depth study of nutrition and management intensified my commitment to a holistic approach.

Coaching horse owners Online to rehab their horse's Hooves
Fantastic people. Each and every one dedicated owners. Greedy to learn to help their horse.
Before they start the rehab program, they are discouraged by the pain and discomfort their horse suffers from. Tired of the countless different pieces of advice and endless opinions. They feel insecure and frustrated.
But they want to change. Change for their equine. They have the courage to begin this journey and go for it. Why? They care deeply about their horse and are ready to take action and be proactive. They want to see their buddy happy again.
What Owners Say
Before the first appointment I was so nervous because I have 2 old horses and the previous farrier held their legs so high that they couldn't walk properly for days after the trimming.
But it turned out well. Irmgard is super calm and takes her time. And the oldies love her.
Irmgard would like to involve me more in the trimming process and explain more to me. I know, I'm a bit of a weakling, but I can't handle that.
I'm fine with how things are.

My older pony had 1 enormous flat foot. Irmgard has been trimming my horses for 4 years now.
Thanks to her knowledge and skills, this has improved significally.
Whenever I have questions, she answers them patiently. And thanks to her tips, I can maintain the hooves in between the visits.
